14 Million Customers is a Record for TAP, Representing a Booking Increase of 21.8%

To celebrate, TAP surprised the 14 millionth passenger, João Humberto Martorelli, who was boarding from Recife, Brazil, to Lisbon, today with a ticket to Europe in recognition.

2017 has been a banner year of growth also for TAP’s global network. The airline now serves 83 destinations (up 8 over 2016) in 34 countries (4 more than last year).

TAP’s expansion will continue in 2018 with new service between Lisbon and both Florence, Italy, and Nouakchott, Mauritania – as well as new service from Porto, with twice-daily flights to both Milan and Barcelona, daily flights to Ponta Delgada in the Azores, and six weekly flights to London City airport.  There will also be a sixth weekly flight added between Lisbon and Toronto Pearson International.

TAP Cargo is also closing 2017 with record numbers. About 78,000 tons of cargo and mail will have been transported on the airline this year, representing an increase of 25% compared to 2016.
