The iconic hotel just in the heart of the two historical Lisbon's neighbourhoods of Chiado and Bairro Alto was closed since last year for some recoveries. With more space, a reinforced upper floor and a great view, the essence of this place got preserved by the hands of the well acclaimed architect Souto Moura.

Since Roman times, the water in Portugal has been used for therapeutic purposes. Thanks to their purity and diversity, spas remain a source of well being even today. The Centro region was favored by the Romans for the purity of its waters and it was that here they built spas for the treatment of bodily and spiritual ailments.
Every Portuguese city has examples of the Art Deco era in its architecture--that period between the 1930s and the 1950s. The Portuguese commonly referred to this time period as the "fascist" era, when the state had a program of erecting public buildings that were to be symbols and tools of propaganda. Consequently, many Portuguese people do not give much attention to these buildings. The most noteworthy include the Monument to the Discoveries in Lisbon, the new university at Coimbra, and the buildings along the marina at Ponta Delgada.
