Coasteering on S. Jorge in the Azores

Coasteering is a physical activity along a rocky coastline on foot or by swimming. And coasteering is a relatively new sport that consists of moving along a  coast and rocks by the sea, using swimming, climbing, jumping and walking. Coasteering may include:

  • Swimming or Adventure Swimming: in calm water; rough or white water.
  • Climbing, scrambling, canyoning, sea level traversing: the very nature of the coastline that is needed for coasteering demands aspects of these activities.
  • Jumping and Diving: are often seen as an appealing and exciting part of coasteering.

The Azores island of São Jorge offers excellent conditions for Coasteering. With its volcanic rock, clear water and  wild landscape this is the place for coasteering.
