Portugal is the 12th most visited country in the world according to Hostelworld

Hostelworld, the largest website for hostel reservations, announced the top 20 country destinations for 2015. And, Portugal took 12th place.
In Portugal, Lisbon is a favorite destination for those seeking adventure and new experiences. The Portuguese capital came in 13th on the list of destinations with the most bookings at hostels. Germans and Americans were the top visitors, followed by Australians, Canadians, French and Brazilians.
Porto also has impressive results with a jump of 12.5% in reservations at hostels. And, the city jumped 5 places to make the Top 40 list of worldwide destinations. Lagos, in the Algarve, came in 95, up six places.
According to Otto Rosenberger, director of marketing Hostelworld, "the Millennial travelers like to feel the pulse of the latest trends when it's time to select the destination of the next trip."
