The winner of the 8th “Best Pastel de Natal” contest is… Pastelaria Fim de Século, in the Benfica section of Lisbon, holds the title for 2016. This year the bakery won the distinction for the best look, consistency, freshness, cream and the flavor of the filling, among other points.
Fim de Século’s delicacy was already one of the most wanted natas, costing 95 cents. But how is the Best Pastel de Natal made? Eggs, flour, milk, sugar syrup and ... the rest is secret. Of the 12 bakeries in the competition, were also recognized the Patyanne in Castanheira do Ribatejo, and A Batalha, in Mafra, occupying respectively the second and third in this edition of “Peixe em Lisboa” event.
