Dear Media: It is spelled DOURO (dumb ass)!!!
May 22, 2016
What do USA Today, Travel Agent and Decanter have in common? Well, they can’t seem to spell the word DOURO. Yes, the Douro, a major European river, home to Port wine and breathtaking scenery… Some say it means River of Gold, but others say the name may have come from a Celt root of dubro-for Water. To the Romans the river was the god, Durius. Either way, it is not now, nor was it ever spelled DUORO – so we ask the media to please stop spelling it that way. #ITSDOURO!
