Carla Sousa was raised by a Cabo Verde family from Santiago Island. During her childhood in a large family, festivities were always around the table. Her father (a master cook particularly of tapas) always wanted her as his right arm. That is where her fascination and passion for cooking was born… There was no longer any question that this was her world and path for years to come.
With her sharp style and strong African influences, Chef Carla Sousa decided to focus on the Portuguese cuisine, which is, in her opinion, the best in the world. With those roots always in mind, she then decides to mix in other cuisines and flavors, always staying true to her essence.
Chef Carla Sousa is a risk taker, always experimenting with different spices, giving them the value they deserve, but only after feeling acquainted with their use.
