Portugal Tourism Week 2016 looks at quality and growth

Portugal Tourism Week, which started last week and runs until Saturday in cities across portugal, will see the kick off of a set of programs to ensure that the sector's growth and the development of new products. Minister of Economy, Manuel Caldera Cabral estimates that Portugal will welcome close to 19 million tourists in 2016 (as compared to 17.4 million in 2015). Just a decade ago, the number was a mere 10 million. 

The program will also look at how to continue to spread the boom of guest around the country, encouraging visitors to explore the full seven tourism regions, with all their diverse offerings.  Extending the market will allow a more balanced growth pattern in the sector.
