Portugal is having a banner year for travel and tourism from the US. In the past weeks Travel + Leisure named Portugal its Editors Pick Destination of the Year. Condé Nast Traveler said Portugal was one of the places to go in 2017. Lonely Planet named the Azores one of the “world’s best regions to visit in 2017.” And, the Huffington Post declared Portugal “The Country Everybody Will Be Visiting In 2017.”

Lisbon welcomes visitors with a wide variety of restaurants, museums, cultural venues and hotels. As Portugal’s capital and largest city, Lisbon is regarded as the warmest and most western capital in Europe. The city is located on the north bank of the Tejo River, where the river meets the Atlantic – just about five and a half hours from Boston.

Azores Airlines is part of the SATA Group, which connects the Azores, an autonomous region of Portugal, with the world. For more information and reservations, contact Azores Airlines at 800-762-9995, www.AzoresAirlines.pt
