TAP AIR PORTUGAL AT IMEX AMERICA
October 12, 2017
TAP Air Portugal is exhibiting again this year at IMEX America, the global trade show for incentive travel, meetings and events, which started today in Las Vegas.
TAP is part of the Visit Portugal stand, together with some of the most important representatives of the Portuguese tourism sector. The airline’s booth is dedicated to Meetings and Conventions, TAP’s network, and products such as renewed interiors across the aircraft fleet, TAP’s Corporate program, and to the airline’s popular Portugal Stopover program that enables passengers to Europe or Africa to enjoy a stopover of up to five nights in Lisbon or Porto for no additional airfare.
TAP’s North America expansion is a main focus for the airline which has doubled its operations in the last year now with daily flights between Lisbon and both New York (JFK) and Boston, as new service this year between Toronto and Lisbon, TAP also serves Lisbon from Newark and Miami, as well as Newark-Porto.
Between January and September this year, TAP has enjoyed passenger growth of 70% over the same period last year, on an increase of 64% more seats, meaning the airline’s load factor has also increased by 2.8%.
With the Portugal Stopover program, TAP’s commitment to the growth of tourism in Portugal remains constant. Given Lisbon is the second closest European capital to the US, the city is natural stopover point en route to destinations such as Rome, Barcelona, Madrid or Paris.
Since its launch in the summer of 2016 until the end of last July, some 70,000 passengers have already enjoyed a Portugal stopover en route to their final destination.
