The Flower Festival , or Festa das Flores, is a traditional festival on Madeira welcoming celebration to Spring. Each year, after Easter, Funchal's downtown hosts parades, flowers market and the flowers rugs cover the streets in multiple colors and smells.

This year, the festival starts on April 19th and goes until May 13th in the also known as "Flower Island." There will be a Flower Exhibition at Praça do Povo (People Square), the center of the festivities.
