Now you can sleep at the Sao Bento Railway Station (Porto)
May 30, 2018
'The Passenger' is the name of the new hostel opened in the old REFER's (National Railroad Network) offices of the Sao Bento train station, in Porto. With private and shared rooms, the hostel keeps the original façade of the 1916 building.
A innovative project that transformed old offices that had been empty for years. With a vintage decoration, high ceilings and room to host around 120 visitors, 'The Passenger' has also a small library and a piano from 1906. All the details in the decoration are vintage, as the hotel imported some of the pieces from Italy and France.
The same building will soon have a restaurant on the outside and the hotel is looking to host cuisine workshops.
With thousands of azulejos (mosaics) decorating the station, Sao Bento was recently named one of the most beautiful railway stations in the world by Conde Nast.
