To be held October 24 to novegebr 3, 2019 - the Festival Nacional de Gastronomia is an annual event in Santarém. First held in 1981, this festival gathers in Santarém flavors from all over the country. 

On the Ribatejo countryside, with a view over the river from its city centre, Santarém celebrates cuisine as part of the Portuguese heritage in the festivals' 38th edition this year. 

Each Portuguese region is represented at the table and the food speaks for itself. Bringing the best of every traditional each, from Porto to Algarve, people can have a taste of the original dishes from fish to meat, the bread and the deserts. 

During the event, cuisine workshops, food and wine tasting, a competition for young chefs and dinners prepared by recognized chefs are offered to the visitors. The fair has a special space for kids, a rich food court, a bar and commercial spaces. 

The perfect event for foodies, this mix of traditional cuisine with a contemporary approach takes everyone to eleven Portuguese cities without leaving the table.
