Hi First Name,
EVENT PRESS RELEASE
FALL RIVER, MA, – Food and wine enthusiasts have a new reason to pack their bags: an exclusive new ten-day culinary tour, “A Taste of Portugal,” hosted by acclaimed Chef George Mendes. Taking place from August 29 to September 8, 2025, this immersive experience will take travelers on a journey through Portugal’s Alentejo, Algarve, and Lisbon regions, combining the country’s rich culinary traditions with cultural exploration. The trip is organized by Sagres Vacations.
Participants will enjoy two show-cooking sessions and workshops with Michelin-starred chefs, tour local wineries, and dine at premier restaurants showcasing Portugal’s renowned flavors. Beyond the plate, the tour includes visits to iconic destinations like Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais, and Évora, capped with an authentic fado concert, offering a deeper connection to Portuguese heritage.
“A Taste of Portugal” promises an unforgettable blend of world-class cuisine, historic charm, and the unique artistry of Portugal’s chefs and winemakers.
Chef George Mendes has been instrumental in introducing Americans to Portuguese cuisine. Following the success of a culinary trip in 2019, Sagres Vacations and Chef Mendes are thrilled to lead a second culinary journey to Portugal this August.
In 2023, a record-breaking one million Americans visited Portugal, many for the first time. One of the biggest surprises for visitors was the food. Though Portugal remains an undiscovered destination for many Americans, its cuisine consistently enchants all who visit this small Western European country.
