Bull on a rope - Azores Terceira, one of the most colorful islands in the Azores holds 230 traditional bullfights each year.
Turismo de Portugal will present the film "The McNamara Surf Trip” this October 10th, at Carcavelos beach. The new documentary is made up of seven films, or better webisodes, since its disclosure is provided only on the Internet. Each webisode is filmed in one of seven regions of Portugal, Porto e Norte, Centro, Lisboa, Alentejo, Algarve, Azores as well as Madeira. This new Portuguese Waves Series also features three events: SATA Azores Pro, the Cascais Billabong Pro, and the Moche Rip Curl Pro Portugal, Peniche.
The annual music festival Maré de Agosto, on the island of Santa Maria, Azores, will run this year from August 21 to the 23. The festival, one of the oldest of the kind in the Azores, is celebrating its 30th year. And it will be help, as usual, on the sandy beach of Praia Formosa.
Faial’s Sea Week, Semana do Mar, will take place from August 1st to the 10th with a range of activities taking place in Baía da Horta, the Canal - 2014 between Faial and Pico, and the Bay of Porto Pim (Horta).

The 9th Annual Azorean Whaleboat Regatta returns to Charles River, on Saturday, June 15. Hosted by the Boston Portuguese Festival and the Azorean Maritime Society, the regatta celebrates a common experience of New Englanders and Azoreans - the whaling industry in the 19th century.
